Please help

I have a Samsung focus windows phone.I bought it from a freind and I am having issues.I put my contact info in it and everytime the phone gets turned off and when I turn it back on all my contacts get erased and my freinds contacts are puyt on it automatically samething happens with my text messages and call log.I have tried holding down power button volume down and camera button and formating the phone and the samething happens.Can anyone help me please?It is driving me crazy!!!!!please please help as soon as anyone can

You can do a factory reset by going into Settings-->About-->reset your phone. This will wipe everything off your phone (apps, contacts, call history, sms history) and on restart ask for you to setup a Windows Live ID to be associated.

Not sure if that's what you're looking for.
