MMS without using data

So I recently bought myself a Samsung Focus (hurrah!) and really like the whole WP7.5 OS. I was trying to send picture/video messages earlier and realised I can't when my data is turned off. Now here's where I run into an issue, I don't have a data plan so leaving data on for me would be insanely expensive (I'm fine with Wi-fi), but I have free MMS-ing. Is there any workaround? Other than buying data of course.
