Windows phone 8.1 camera app

I was just wondering if anyone else besides me switched their Lumia phone to using the default camera app since I find it to be somewhat better now than nokias pro cam!!

I did as well! I stopped using the Nokia app for a while now because of how ling the start up time is. Its pretty embarrassing when you tell everyone that Windows Phone have the best cameras in a smartphone and then you go to boot it up and it says loading Microsoft app is much much better

The only thing missing is the recroping of the image. Other than that Im very satisfied with the default app now.

I did too, Nokia Cam is still more customizable but the new MS cam app is really neat too and certainly less glitchy. I think for smartphone cameras speed and efficiency is still more important than features at the moment for me

Me too. Just wish I could swap out Burst for Smart Shoot. I can't figure that one out. It takes 15 quick pictures, but how do I sift through them?

When you take a burst shot and preview the image, you'll see the word BURST within the image. Tap the word and you'll be send to another part of the app where you can select which part of the pic you want.

I have a question....

With the Windows Phone 8.1 camera app, for those of us with Lumia 1020 and 1520....Does it take the High Res pics or the Oversampled 5 mP pics or just regular non-pureview photos?

Great question. I hope that worth windows 8.1 the camera app would at lease take full 20mp pics from the 1520. Don't know about the 1020 though. I'm just speculating. Anyone with a 1520 or a 1020 can answer that for us!!! I have a 925. I do have a 1520 on its way. I should have it by the end of the week.

I would love to see some comparison took using Nokia Camera and Microsoft Camera using Auto Setting and on the same lighting, condition, and situation.

Late, but one thing I would LOVE is for the new cam to have one finger sliding zoom, like the nokia cam. Shortcuts are awesome, and I miss sliding to the left and seeing my recent pictures, but the one handed zooming is HUGE for me. Usually don't have more than a few seconds to snap a pic. Anyone agree?

Am I the only one with annoying bug with microsoft camera app? After taking a pic, swipe to the left to see the picture, and then try to delete it. It takes me like three or four click to actually delete just one image. Annoying.
