Twitter Beta app just died

They must have done a soft "update" to the app as it no longer functions for me. One bad side effect is it gimped my Twitter sync with the phone. If I go into the People hub I can still see Facebook and Twitter updates, but if I go into contacts individually they are no longer synced to Twitter, although I am.. Oddly, I still have to option to post an update through Twitter.

Anyone else seeing this?

mine stopped working around 1pm est yesterday. even clicking on the shortcut on my home screen pretty much lead me to the store to download the non-beta version.
