How to load .SRT subtitles to videos?

There's a new subtitles setting in videos but I just can't load .SRT files to my videos.
I tried renaming the SRT to match the video filename exactly, also tried putting video and corresponding subtitle file in the same folder; but nothing works.

I think it should be iinbuilt on the video itself..like in mkv file ... The subtitle should be preloaded in the mp4 file :/

Or, you use a third party app. Moliplayer has a free trial period, if you just copy the video + subs (same filename) in the same folder, Moli will read it.
--> I know this isn't your question, yet, as Moli has a free trial, I'd say just try it.
