I'm wondering certain "big name" apps are forever in beta because the OS doesn't yet support features they are building in.

Maybe they just don't work properly yet because downloading the app in a future version(8.1) will allow for hooks into the OS from the app. Its like a modular OS or something...instead of building the integration of facebook(known to be pulled out in favor of app version of sharing) into the OS the APIs for the integration are in the OS and the apps hook in to these new APIs?

The smartphone reinvented around you makes more sense suddenly.

Has anyone that develops and has access to the SDK seen anything that suggests this could be a possibility?
