Ok. Now it's time to ask the question. Is there any chance that Verizon can scrounge up an 8.1 phone within a few months of its release. And don't give me that "The Icon is an 8.1 phone" business because there will likely be features that it just won't get. For example, if 8.1 really does support software buttons instead of hardware on the front, you might see a small reduction in phone sizes. There might be a dedicated Cortana button somewhere. Who knows? Time to play the waiting game again?

Regardless of that, who knows how long it would take Verizon to push the 8.1 update to existing Windows Phones over the air. I hope Microsoft or Nokia controls the updates because Verizon wouldn't get it until the end of the year based off of how long it takes them to approve android updates.

I doubt there will be drastic changes to new phones running windows 8.1.

If Verizon is late in pushing out 8.1 to the icon and 928, there will always be developer preview :)
