Very sad developer preview has been delayed.. Donno when this waiting game will get over :|

My hope is that it's been delayed because of some revolutionnary improvement/functions that needed more time to be implemented, and that we have no idea how great will be WP8.1.
I'am actually amazed with what have been leaked. But I am certain that those leaked have the approvement of MS, and that there's a lot of things that haven't been leaked.

IF we get the opportunity to get the Dev preview, do our phones still update the day the official update actually comes out?

yes you will get an OFFICIAL update when 8.1 updates will be OTAs . these OTAs will fix any bug or might also bring minor improvements. but as it has been seen by the devlopers . the devs preview is usually the final OTA update. so register your phone and wait for devs preview .

April 15th is more like mid April. If you want the Dev Preview I think you should be looking at a 20th to 30th of April time frame (as late April)

We should get it on April 10th!!! Even sooner than expected (source : Windows Phone 8.1 Preview for Developers Program should go live Thursday, April 10 | Windows Phone Central)
