Lumia 1020, 920, and older Phones

How do you think the phones will handle the update? I've heard mixed things on various threads, so I figured I'd start one. I have a 1020 and compared it to a 1520 and Icon in stores. They are noticeably different in speed in my mind.

Do you think it'll be even more noticeable once the update comes out between the older phones and newer ones?

Will the 1020, 920, 820, etc. be able to handle the update with ease or will they struggle? Will there be a noticeable change in speed?

I'd like to know what you guys think. I'm not certain about it for the older phones.

The older phones are going to work just fine with the update. Joe Belfiore did a demo on the 630, and I'm thinking I've seen one video of him doing the demo on a 520. Both were fine.

That's good to hear. I really look forward to the update, I just really hope it doesn't slow my 1020 down at all.

If anything, you may see improvements. WP 8.1 has been specifically optimized even more for low-end devices than before, so I would imagine that on a high-end device it might show improvement as well.

I like the idea older phones getting 8.1 even without Miracast. Brings to my mind the update style Apple uses, one or two new features are left out from older phones. Meanwhile Android manufacturers have problems doing this, they don't give you software update most likely at all.

Hope Microsoft gives us WP9, not some named WP8.8, but few features left out.

I ordered the Lumia 925. Then after I checked out all the features that 8.1 will have. I can't wait to try it out. Looks like a lot of good stuff.
