2 Colums vs 3 Colums: What do you prefer?

Definitely 3, being able to actually use Wide-length tiles without using up half your screen estate is a blessing and a half.

With a 5 inch, 3 for sure. Gots to have the m?nage ? trois.

For smaller screens i would used them as setting shortcuts. There are apps that provide Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc to be pinned to the start. There are only 4 options for the notification menu, so this gives you a place for it.

Nope. None. My screen has black bars on the left and right, so I think I should get the option for 4 columns. Especially since 4.5-inch phones run 3 columns well enough.

Am using a Lumia 525. 3 columns. I find that the small tiles work well with the small screen.

It's a dilemma for me. I prefer the medium tiles in the 3 column ones to the small tiles in the 2 column. However I think the big tiles are not big enough...
Also, it takes quite a bit of time to change, I'm a bit lazy to swtich around to see how things are..
Maybe given time I may like the 3 columns but don't think im changing it anytime soon..

Same here... Lumia 920 user... I didn't have anything against old look in WP 8, but when I upgraded to WP 8.1, and tried the 3 column style, I think I couldn't go back to "old look" (just in case, I took a screenshot of my old Start Screen )

Actually nothing gets lost. The third column goes to the end of the page and starts after the applications on the first two column finishes if you switch it off.

I prefer 2 on my L810 (4.3 inch screen), 3 just seems to be too small. I like having the option, though.
