Editing POP-IMAP email accounts

Hi,
I'm in the process of setting up some POP email accounts and Its driving me crazy.
Everytime I get something, I have to start from scratch, theres no way to edit the email account.
It asks for a password, plug in the correct one and it tells me it cannot sync, because its not the password its one of the other settings.

Look in "advance" and leave verification and ssl open.

At the moment the account has been trying to sync for the last hour, so something is wrong.
Since it is syncing I cannot edit the account, I have restarted the phone, soft reset and soon as you go into email accounts settings it starts syncing.
How the hell can I delete or even edit the account when it won't come out of syncing ?

Set autosync to manual. But for the sync troubles is your time set up correctly?

I set it to flight mode, so that stopped the syncing while I was adjusting the email account. Now I can adjust the settings.

Still trying to get the accounts to work, I'm putting in all the outgoing and ingoing servers that my provider has provided me with and still no luck. I had it working before the hard reset so I'll try something else.
