Canada: Microsoft finally listening?

We'll have to wait and see for more examples, but the Microsoft Store in Canada is offering an off-contract, unlocked variant of the Lumia 635 for $249.99. There's definitely a premium over a carrier variant from Rogers, Telus or Koodo, but it might be worth it considering that you're likely to get updates first.

The more important point is the possibility of this being the first of many unlocked variants coming to Canada via the Microsoft Store. We might end up seeing the Lumia 730, 830 and possibly others.

Same happened with 1020...and thats about it. Lets wait and see but hopefully this is the case, as id prefer to buy unlocked. But its disappointing to see 1520 or 930 not available.

I personally don't see the benefit unless they offer the entire line up including the models not offered through Canadian carriers.
