Outlook 2013 & Wdows Phone 8.1 email app

Hello,
I have been using the built in Windows 8 email app on my laptop and Surface 2. I am thinking of purchasing Outlook 2013. I have always used Outlook but once I migrated to Windows 8, I have been always using the built in email app that comes in the operating system.

If I were to use Outlook 2013, how will this be able to sync with my emails in my Windows Phone 8.1 built in email client? I believe I would have limited functionality correct?

For example, if I were to make 2 subdivision folders within my inbox via Outlook 2013 (ex: inbox -->bills -->Bank of America), will these 2 subdivision folders show up in my Windows Phone 8.1 email client as well?

Yes they will. But you would have to configure your WP to do so. Means you go into your mail account, pull up the bottom app bar and choose "show all folders". Then you pick the folder you want to sync in addition to what's already been syncing and pull up the bottom app bar again. Now pick "sync this folder" and you're done.

Your Surface 2 has Outlook 2013, give it a try before buying it.
