I have the HTC 8XT, which has an embarrassingly low 8GB of internal storage. I've noticed that my messaging takes up a whopping 3.35GB of space on my phone. In the backup settings, I see there's a dropdown menu titled "Download messages from" and then "the last month", "the last year", and "any time".
I don't know if this a selection for only backing up messages from that time period to the cloud, or, due to the term "download", is this an option to only download certain messages from the cloud to your phone, while an entire messaging history is still backed up in the cloud should you switch to "any time".
I've googled the menu but can't find anything on it. I've also tried switching the options but don't see an effect either way. It would be great if I could switch it to "the last year" to try and cut down on the space my messages take up. Can anyone let me know for sure which way "download messages from" is actually going, to the cloud or to the phone?
