New 735 cant sign into Microsoft account.

A friend of mine bought a sim free 735 (UK) and is unable to register on the phone with her outlook account. I continues to fail. She can get emails to the Outlook account and all else (calls, texts and internet) work. She cant update apps, etc. Anyone else have this difficult?

Any advice.
