Quick question: I'm getting a replacement Lumia 830 because of a small fault. I have tons of data on the micro SD card and wasn't to know if I will just be able to insert it before our after the new device "restores" itself from backup?

Or should I download what I can from it, then reformat the card and stay from scratch.

BTW, I have everything possible on the card: Apps, photos, music, videos, map data, etc. Thanks in advance!

You do not need to format the SD.
Just start your new phone up and if the phone is up and running put the SD card in.

For picture videos etc there will be no problem. Maybe some apps wich are on internal memory but save data on SD my give some problems.

To prevent problems with apps move them to the internal memory . In SETTING > back up > do a manual backup. And during the setup from your new phone restore this back up.
