Free Fitbit app says im not connect to internet

I have been doing some browsing and find that I may be eligable for a free fitbit flex band for my 735 purchased in January 2015. I have downloaded the fitbit gift app, but when it goes to validate my phone, it says I am not connected to the internet. I have tried by wifi and also by the network.

Whats happening?

Only after you install this app you will receive your fitbit. So I presume there is a problem with the app. I have the same problem myself trying to claim the fitbit for two days now and I'm getting the same error

The gift app isnt working. I have phoned the helpline and they had issues aswell when they tested it. Waiting on a call to see what they can do for me.

Ok, bit of an update.

Maybe coincidence or not but. Out of curiosity, I installed the fitbit app aswell as the fitbit gift app. Guess what? It worked!!! It says I have sucessfully completed the offer and I should receive it in 4 weeks.

Got my fitbit today. Yay another gadget for me to mess with. Get yours before it's too late.
