    Hello,
I am currently an iPhone user but I am interested in switch over to a Windows phone in the future, since I use windows on everything else.
Has anyone heard any information about Microsoft starting to provide over the air updates directly, like Apple does instead of relying on the carrier? I am on Tmobile and I know they stopped providing updates to those very early but I never need to worry about that on my iphone.

    Thanks

Microsoft issue the OTA updates, but after carrier customizatrion and approval. It's possible to join the Preview for Developer program that allows you early access to Operating System updates although firmware updates have to awate the carriers.

How things work moving forward into Windows 10, we don't know yet.

No windows phone still uses also carriers so not as iPhone and there are no indications that that will change soon.
