Why the name given to a Windows Phone can not be changed? And if it can, how?

Hello everyone, I have recently purchased the Lumia 1520, I have transferred all the data on it from the older Lumia 920 in one easy step after turning on the new phone and following its guidance, however although it copied just about everything, it also copied the name from the old phone, so now when I look "settings" then "about" it shows LVG (my initials) Nokia Lumia 920 -->ON THE 1520! Help please!

Connect your phone to the PC and rename your device there.

Download and install the Windows Phone app for desktop on your PC. Windows Phone app for desktop | Windows Phone (United Kingdom)

It will allow you to rename your phone.

You don't need the app - you can just download it in Windows Explorer (the same way you rename any other drive that shows up)
