How can I connect my nokia lumia 520 with an 8.1 pro pc using usb?

Hi everyone!I am a newbie and I have a problem.My lumia 520 do not show up when i connect it but it charges(so it is not the cable).I have tried evrything and it doesn't work.I didn't know how to turn off the xbox music cloud off(On windows phone 8.1 videos and music are separately and i cant see how to turn the xbox music cloud off)so that is the single thing i didn't tried.Please help if you can.

Even if your phone is charging, it doesn't mean that the cable is completely functional... because the number of contact points used in charging is less than the number of contact points used for cable data transfers. This is the reason why not all charging cables can be used as data cables... but all data cables can be used as a charging cable.

It's possible that your cable still works as a charging cable but no longer as a data cable.

Try using a different data cable with your phone... or using a different USB port.

Connect ur phone to pc via usb cable.
Then go to control panel.
Hardware + printer
There is windows phone icon click on that and click browse files.
