Hello!

I was wondering if there's any app or way of being able to view a 3D film running on a Nokia 1020 using Google Cardboard to view it. I don't know of any video player apps that support 3D video files. Maybe there's a way to remotely-screen-share it? Any ideas?

Cheers,
Sam

That would depend on the encoding of the file, not whether or not it's 3d.

Assuming a compatible format that will play on the phone, anything side-by-side (as opposed to top/bottom or interlaced) should work. Might have issues with the aspect ratio though.

Also: huh, Google invented cardboard now. Until Apple reinvents it, I guess.

Thanks! Do you know any players that let you change the aspect-ratio?

Also is there anything I can do if I have a file which is top/bottom or interlaced?

All you need to do is use your favorite YouTube clone like Mettotube and search for 'split screen 3d'. These will play through the app and if you have a cardboard or plastic 3d viewer for your WP, you will get the 3D experience.

You can also play 3D mpeg4 videos that are recorded with 'SBS' in many players on WP.
