How do I load my previously backed up settings after restarting my Lumia 520

I have not been having any sound from my phone and planning on doing a hard reset, but I want to be sure I know how to restore my backed up settings. Can anyone give me advice/resources on how to restore my backed up settings?

when you run setup, at login it asks you for your Live ID. After you provide the ID/PW it will ask you if you want to restore from a backup, and presents a list of all backups you've made with that account (grouped by phone if you have multiple phones).
