Changed SD Car now Gmail and Cortana do not work

Lumia 520. Windows Phone 8.1.
Changed my SD card from 8GB to 32GB and now.
Gmail does not connect.
Cortana says there are no interests available.

So, I deleted my Gmail account, but now I cannot add a new one.
Setting > Email & Accounts > Add account > Google > Connect
Just tries to connect but does nothing no error nothing.

Cortana says interests are not available
AFAIK my Microsoft account is working correctly, but I have no idea how to prove it.

I have no idea how to get this to work anymore.

Well, I seem to have fixed it, but I have no idea why or how its fixed.
I had already deleted the Gmail account.
I used: Setting > Email & Accounts > Add account > Advanced > added some settings
This didnt work, but when I deleted this account, and re-tried:
Setting > Email & Accounts > Add account > Google > Connect
It worked and furthermore Cortana burst into life.
Go figure.

Both those issues are about connectivity with the internet.

An SD card should have no effect on that.
