Syncing IMAP accounts between Outlook 2013 for Desktop and Windows Phone 8.1

Hi Folks

AFAIK, all my email accounts are set up the same in O2013 for Desktop and WP8.1: they are all IMAP accounts.

I use Spambayes in OL2013 to remove spam but an hour later I still see the spam messages on my Windows Phone.

Tapping the sync button brings up a message saying all accounts are up to date but the miscreant spam messages are still there even though I know they have been moved to the Junk Email folder on OL2013.

What gives?

Is it a server side spam filter or just local computer? To sync the spam filtering has to be on the server side, not on your local computer.
