Can I access my OneDrive Word docs in my Office app if my phone is stolen?

OneDrive Word docs accessable in Office app

Hi Guys

Please can you help, surely I am missing something here !

I have Nokia 735 Win8.1 Update 2

I have just saved some Word docs to One Drive, and passcode protected access to OneDrive all good so far! - then I am in the Office app and I can download without any passcode the Docs to the handset. Clearly this isn't secure enough, if my handset was lost/stolen my OneDrive docs can all be accessed ?

That's the downside of automatic login on a trusted device. All you can do is use a pin code for your phone and have it blocked ASAP if it ends up stolen.

Thanks for your reply, and sorry for the slight delay in responding. I was hoping someone else would come along with a magical answer, but it's not to be!. This is in my view a huge shortfall in the software.

A shortfall that exists across platforms, but now that smartphones are windows to our entire lives, allowing a thief access to our mail, calendar, contact list, documents, and soon enough probably unlocking the front door by remote, we can probably expect all smartphones to come with biometric security in a few years. (hopefully)
