Given the well documented security problems with Android app why would MS even think of taking that risk?

Researchers discover security problems with Android apps, could they be used by real hackers? | Android Authority

I am quite happy with what the WP store has to offer me (I'm not one of those people who treats their phone like a personal computer) and like living in my little MS "walled garden".

Not only the devs who won't make apps

I don't need Android apps, I only need the apps, be it native or not.
I'm up late, just saw this...I'm going through and favorite-ing/retweeting what I can. That's appalling, thought I have noticed several times that those that have apps always leave it out of advertisements.

well it has actually worked. Twitter was actually updated. If you want apps, tweet the devs/App name with #dontforgetyourownapp

Since MS has removed the licensing price of Windows Phone, I don't think this is going to happen. Because App revenue from windows phone store is the only thing left to support the platform.

I couldn't care less about Android apps/games on Windows Phone (with the exception of when a game is cheaper - Square Enix!!!).
There aren't any apps, that I need, that aren't already available.
I'm not a very "social" person, so I'm not up on all the new fads and time-wasters.

I think it's a waste of time, focusing on Android.
I think we're headed in the right direction, with Windows unification.
I see my desired end-goal coming - being able to run Windows programs on my phone.
