Small tiles in WP8..

Are the small tiles "live". I've only had about 15 minutes with WP8 and I couldn't get the small ME tile to flip or do anything.

I made the Messaging (text/SMS) tile small and the counter increments. I also have the Wife Tile small, but that does not appear to be changing.
I think the Store tile showed when I had an update..

Small tiles = live number increments.
Medium = live updates.
Large = live detailed updates.

The small tiles won't flip, but do use counters & change the front

I was sad to learn the limitations of the small tiles. On the beta 7.8 ROM that I was using, the small tile was really just a resized standard tile, so it still had the full functionality. Now I miss being able to pin a small tile from an app like Bloomberg to monitor a specific stock. Instead, I get a useless orange tile with the letter B on the small tile on WP8.
