Dialing Phone Numbers Inside Appointments

I am on many conference calls and get appointments sent to me with the dial in information embedded in the appointment (usually in the location line).

These numbers have a phone number then a pin code.

I cannot figure out how to enter the number so it not only dials from within the appointment but also holds, then prompts me to enter the pin code at the correct time.

On my BB this was easily accomplished by using an X between the number and the pin and on an iPhone I believe it is a ;

When I use a p, w, x or semi colon at best I get the original number linked but never the pin code.

Any help?

Does a comma actually function as a time delay? I was trying to figure out a way to dial my gf's mother's work phone for the rare occasions I have to call her there and couldn't figure it out. Gave up pretty quickly.

...is the only way to enter said comma by copying it from somewhere else?

unfortunately this does not work for me.

If I enter the number and pin code separated by a comma it no longer links the number and I cannot dial by pressing the number.

If I use a space after then number and then a comma I can dial the number but it does not pick up the pin code.

hmmmmmm
