I bought a factory unlocked Lumia 820 from Clove UK. I live in the USA. I set all of my regional settings to English (US). But I still see labels like "favourites" (instead of "Favorites") and "surname" (instead of "last name"). Is there a way to convince my phone I am an American?

Just accept that your mobile is right and move on I would say. You ignorant Americans should learn the correct spellings and phrases, take is as a lesson.

LMAO this title cracks me up. I'm Canadian so I would rather see it that way actually. But I have to set it to US for some damn functions to work - -

Can I suggest if you don't want to speak English... You'll want to flash a false-English firmware onto your phone....

Just saying 😃

Yeah just realized (realised?) I'll have to flash it in the Nokia Care suite. Duh. The phone is for my wife so I know it will tick her off. If it were me I'd keep it British. I think it's classy

That's funny! I actually have all of my settings on my WP7.5 device as "English (United Kingdom)" except System locale. I did that so I could get dates in DD:MM:YY format instead of MM:DD:YY format.
