Does anyone have any experience using any MDM software for WP8, RT, IOS and Android? Particularly with internet filtering. Intune and System center has MDM but no filtering. I need to be able to filter certain categories of sites like violent, porn, gambling, etc. Thanks.

You should check out MaaS360 . They have a Secure Browser which lets you filter URLs based on categories (like gaming, nudity, job-search, sports etc.. about 64 categories.)

After my Tests i think that the MDM API's of WP8 don't let you Filter Internet... :-(

Maybe try to Filter this in the Firewall of your Company?

MDM can be done with WP8 and Intune, Airwatch and MobileIron at the Moment.

Which According to their Website Online Supports iOS and Android for Secure Browser...

"MaaS360 Secure Browser protects data and increases productivity by controlling access to websites for iOS and Android devices."

I can't even see if they support WP8 or only WP 7.X like the Pictures on their side suggest...

I appreciate the input but can you still access the sites through Internet Explorer? It sounds like those are just secure browsers.

Couple of things, which I am aware of here -- the browser they have is currently is for iOS and Android only..and since this comes with an MDM solution, what you can do is :
    1. Block the usage of native browsers ( e.g. Safari on iOS)
    2. Disallow installation of other browsers, i.e. disallow installation of other browser apps like Chrome, Opera etc)

My suggestion would be to get in touch with the folks at MaaS360 (they are pretty responsive) and take a free-trial. Since theirs is a purely cloud based solution, you really don't need to worry about installing stuff in your network for the trial or later.

Thanks, I'll see what they can do.

hink3000 - what's your verdict? Have you decided on any MDM solution yet?

Old thread, but it's worth sharing what I know.

MaaS360 will be launching secure browser for Windows Phone very soon. MobileIron is also working with Microsoft to deliver similar capabilities. We've been searching for an MDM solution for nearly a year now. We're waiting until Windows Phone 8.1 is announced before making any decisions. I've been told by nearly every major MDM solution that they are waiting on the WP8.1 announcement before releasing any substantial updates to their platforms. Which is completely understandable. Apparently Windows Phone 8.1 completely changes the way apps are distributed to devices (not sure exactly what this means, but I'm assuming it's a good thing). There will also be ways to push settings such as WiFi settings to devices which is a huge bonus for us companies using certificate authentication. Microsoft will be including a "seamless vpn", which is likely DirectAccess or Workplace Join-like functionality. If this is the case, then filtering will be possible by directing any web traffic through your Corporate infrastructure. You should look into setting up ADFS 3.0 and Web Application Proxy - both are easily installed roles of Server 2012 R2. WAP is required for workplace join and direct access. Unfortunately "real world" the documentation is lacking on these products as they are fairly new.
