I posted this in the 822 forum but only received 1 replay.

If I understand correctly the Verizon 822 has an 8 megapixel camera. Is the following correct when uploading photos and are there any other options?

1) Skydrive app from the marketplace uploads the original but only through wifi not cellular network.
2) native camera upload reduces resolution
3) can upload to flickr and facebook at full resolution -- I have not tested this but read this using Google search.

Anyone know of any other options? Also, is it possible to change the resolution in which you take a photo using the camera settings or any 3rd party apps? (Example -- How would you take a 2 MP photo versus an 8 MP? -- Is there an app that will allow this?)

Thanks in advance for any help,
yeto

1) Correct. You can only upload the original quality via a WiFi connection.
3) I can't comment on Flickr but I can tell you that uploading to Facebook reduces the image size and resolution.

There are only two choices when choosing camera resolutions and that is done by changing the aspect ration between 16:9 and 4:3. So 3552 x 2000 (7.1 Mega pixels) for 16:9, 3264 x 2448 (7.9 Mega pixels) for 4:3. I personally do not know of any apps that can lower this further because I've never looked. However, I would imagine an application or two would exist for this very purpose.

The following info might help someone:

shared to Hotmail -- reduced size to 218 x 123
shared to Gmail -- reduced size to 226 x 127
shared to SkyDrive -- reduced size to 1278 x 720

so far I cannot get flickr to work
Can someone share the reduced size if photo is shared to facebook or flickr?

Thanks,
yeto
