I stand on my position that exclusives hurt WP8. The new approach Nokia is taking with Here and Here+ is the right direction. I say all exclusives should be available for purchase to other WP8 users. If you want ie. Nokia Here or Samsung Live Wallpaper, give the consumer the choice to buy the app if he wants it and if it works on his device, or one off his devices. Bravo to Nokia with Here, now please HTC and Samsung, do the same, allow the people who buy something else to buy your exclusives if they work on their devices.

Playstation has exclusives, Xbox has exclusives, Macs have exclusives, cars have exclusives, so why exactly should Nokia not have exclusives, because it doesn't suit a minority of WP users? And what do HTC and Samsung actually have of any value to offer other WP users? Do they share their android exclusive features and apps?

Nokia is the only OEM truly behind WP, and are not a charity so no one should complain about the added value the bring to their handsets with their exclusives.

You must be joking, all the promotion, marketing, app development initiatives, contests - even without the 3rd party exclusives or their own Nokia is head and shoulders above the true "just another OEM" status of HTC, Samsung and the rest.

Not to mention their cameras, feature packed hardware, updates beyond the standard OS update, fixing OS bugs while Microsoft sits around, and they're not even close to being "just another OEM".

You forget that the point of this thread is about exclusive APPS not hardware, not marketing, not promotion, not app development initiatives.

Nokia are just another WP OEM without those exclusives, Nokia would have disappeared a long time ago as their Symbian and MeeGo phones became more and more irrelevant. That means they have no backup plan and if WP fails that's it for them so, unlike HTC and Samsung who rely on Android devices for the majority of their profits, Nokia have to do all they can to push WP which includes the things you mentioned hardware and promotion wise which is nothing special!!!!
