Playlists not syncing

I have a HTC 8X phone and a laptop running Windows 7. I've used the Windows 8 desktop application to sync my music to my phone. The music is all there but, most of the playlists are not complete. Most only have a couple of songs attached. What can I do to correct this? I really don't want to have to recreate all of these playlists.

I've seen that thread but, it doesn't offer any suggestion on how to get a playlist created in Zune to sync using the desktop app. I don't want to have to recreate the playlists in Windows Media Player.
