Getting a little worried...

My L920 seems to be kicking it up a bit right now, and I'm worried the OS is really having some troubles.

A while ago I had the phenomenon that all live tiles stopped working, except for messaging, phone, outlook, social updates (integrated in people hub, not apps like FB) After many reboots and soft resets, it has never fully restored itself. Some work, some don't.

Now, as of yesterday, Fruit Ninja (old favourite) just decided to start freezing, always after the 2nd game (always just before announcing star fruit points - if anyone wants the exact moment). Uninstalled and reinstalled after about 12 hours, same deal.

My phone is quite clean I think. Always 8-9 gb free, others hovers around 2gb. I do have quite a few apps - never counted, but I would guess 70-80. I regularly clean browsing history, I only allow specific apps to use background services, I mostly just have "fun" games, no high-end graphic games.

As far as I can tell, I'm doing everything right, I just don't know where the reason may lie.

I'm petrified of doing a hard reset because of the "spinning gears of death" - my device ist 1st generation. Plus I'm afraid it'll take me a full week to get it back the way I have it now...

Any advice? Device is unlocked, SIM free, purchased without a contract. Should I wait it out for GDR2/Amber first and see how it handles it? Hard reset if that doesn't fix things?

Sounds like it's malfunctioning, and might need to go back to Nokia anyway, so I'd do the hard reset. I got the "Forever Gears" during my hard reset back in May. Nokia sent me a replacement a week or so later. Do you have a backup phone?

I just counted my apps... 132 + 27 games... Maybe too many?

I'm gonna see how it handles Amber, and if it's still buggy, do a hard reset.

I've got a few old Symbian handsets lying about that I can use if it gets stuck, so I'm sure I'll manage.

Thanks.
