How is this "confirmation" that it exists? Not saying there isn't an issue somewhere that can cause this to happen, but this article has no information from any source (credible or otherwise) that the problem has been acknowledged.

To stop the "it's your hardware" nonsense, here's confirmation that the problem exist and i'm glad it's not going under the carpet cause it needs getting fixed asap.

That is defanitly not proof of anything. If you want to make a case for this why don't you start a poll here and ask people to list there device. I know you have issues with your device. It just so happens I don't have issues with mine. I have had a L920 & L1020 both with zero issues. Making a thread with a title like that then posting a link to a poll as evedince makes your argument less credable. Why not gather your own statistics by making a poll here at WPC?
