Texting to and from an iphone with a Windows phone

So apparently, I am having trouble texting back and forth with people who have an iphone and who use imessage. I switched to my Lumia 820 from an Iphone, but I have turned off the imessage feature on the old iphone. Anyone else have similar challenges - know of a solution?

You really have to make sure your number is no longer associated with your imessage account. I would go over to imore.com's forums to get more info on that. I had issues before when I was switching back and forth between an iPhone and different WPs.

Strange, I have no issues sending and receiving texts with my bff with an iPhone, and sending pics works, but she can NEVER open a vid I take and send to her. She says her iPhone just says the file is too large to be opened. Even short little vids. :-/

You may have it turned off, but in their phone it may still have you associated with iMessage.

You need to have them delete your iMessage from your handle and to only use your # when texting you.
