Hi All
Time to celebrate !!!
I purchased a second hand unlocked Nokia 925 which had the Three network firmware on it. It was fine with my EE Sim, but the 4G option was not available which drove me mad.
I tried many times to find a way of flashing the device to a new set of EE firmware, but just couldn't get hold of the right images as the Nokia site seems to have been locked down.
Then I had a brainwave - I bought a cheap PAYG Sim for the Three network, put it in the phone, checked for updates, then bam!, 5 minutes later I had a working 4G phone. Popped the EE SIM back in and my life is happy once again.
Thought I'd post this up as I've heard others having frustrations with operator locked phones
