Any Nokia Lumia with WP8! I dumped Android in October and haven't looked back! 521 to 810 so far. In between dabbled in 822 and 925 as well. Currently eyeing 920 and 1320. Might even snag a 1520.

Lumia 1520!! Because I own one... duh!

I really hate being a spec hore but, Snapdragon 800 SoC, 6" Clearblack display (the screen is absolutely beautiful and even rivals amoled!!), microsd, 20mp pureview cam w/OIS and amazing battery life and all that in one device. This tops even the best Android devices.

The 1020 is the one I would most like. Can't go any bigger. I am due an upgrade in November, and my 920 will be 2 years old. Looking forward to the new stuff.

HTC One until I bought 1520 in November. Missus and I both had One but then switched to windows. She got 1020 and I got 1520. I'd say it's a tie between HTC One and 1520 for me.

Although I have the Nexus 5, the Lumia 1520 is the best smartphone (of 2013), to me. Nokia's hardware is beautiful and is largely unmatched. And, It's the only bigger-screened smartphone with a GREAT camera. It also helps that Windows Phone is starting to become more polish, and more and more apps are starting to arrive on the platform. Just my opinion.

The 1020 is the best as it has the most innovative feature in its camera. The 1520 is basically a big phone with the latest specs, nothing really out of the ordinary these days compares to the competition. I would also give the 92x series a honorable mention, the 920 was truly the best all rounder at launch and the 929 looks to be the best compromise of all Nokia's tech in one device.

In GSM Arena's Champions League the Lumia 1520 was the winner followed by the 1020 and 520. Android and iPhone fans were just blown away. The final was yesterday. Check it out Nokians/Microsoftians.....

Well, I chose Nokia Lumia 1520 as the smartphone of 2013 since:

    1) above average camera

    2) most advanced internal hardware ensuring future-proof quality of the device and faster speed

    3) first Nokia Lumia phablet that feels great in hand (at least for me)

    4) battery life is very, very reliable and even rated by GSMArena with the highest battery endurance rating

    5) comes out with the latest WP version out of the box
    6) this is a WP Central forum and a lot of you will mock me when I chose a phone with a different OS. Jk.

The only advantage of 1020 against it is its 41-MP camera, but this makes the former a feature phone than a regular smartphone that can serve as a daily driver. Furthermore, shot-to-shot interval for the 1020 is longer than that of 1520. Even though you'll reason out that it's long because of the large image size stored, it IS still slow and doesn't make it good as a daily driver. Another reason why 1020 is more of a feature phone.

But I am not saying that 1020 is not an excellent device. It is excellent, but not not excellent enough to compete with 1520 as a daily driver.

I disagree with this. The 1020 does everything the 1520 can do. Even with the higher specs there is not a great difference in performance yet in 2013. The 1520 is more future proofed with the higher specs but WP OS doesn't need those great specs to begin with to run smoothly. I have found the 1020 to be an excellent daily driver.

I was an early adopter to the Galaxy Note series. As the sizes got bigger, they just lost their appeal to me. Also had a 1020 for a week or so but that thing was like a brick in my pocket; too heavy.

Having said that if I had to choose just one device, it would be the Moto X. It can simply do things no other phones on the market can do.

    touchless control
    active notifications
    trusted bluetooth device
    Google Wallet tap and pay
can use with my Pebble smart watch

I like my Lumia 925, but would like it more with 32GB...hopefully 2014 will bring some more storage to the more compact Lumias.

Hopefully, 2014 will bring more storage to every phone. 16GB is starting to get stale. Even 32GB isn't that much, anymore.
