Messenger problem (on GDR3)

My wife and I are both on WP8 (Nokia 920) and we use Messenger on the phone to text. However, since yesterday or so, I am not able to send any messages to her (I am getting "can't send message, try again"). However, I can send messages to my brother (also on WP8). Any of you facing the same problems? This happens both on wifi or 4G.

A few days before I was getting messages from her delayed by hours (even days), and now this...

Any of you have this same problem? Is there any setting on my or my wife's phone that may be making it respond this way? Messaging via facebook (integrated SMS) works fine.

Does your brother have the same carrier or a different carrier?

Brother has a different carrier (half way across the globe - different country) but using the AT&T variant of the phone (unlocked). The ones that we use in the US are AT&T branded too.
