Saving a contact during a call?

Hello,
Was wondering if there is a way to save a phone number while I am busy on a call. I was able to type the number and had a thought to save it later the call. However, the dialled number screen vanished as soon as call was adjourned. This is one of the basic call feature. Not sure, if I need to enable anything in settings...

I get used to this method which works perfectly , when I am on a call and the person ask me to wrote down a number , I simple tap the startcsreen and open OneNote (I have pinned a new note pin , it always open a new fresh page , to do so go to OneNote on your windows phone 8/go to your notebooks and then tap on 3 dots /pin new to start. I have this pinned right next to the phone app :smile:

or you may quickly go to into people hub and tap on new to create a new contact :wink:
