What's Windows Phone's Game Plan?

What is the WP team shooting for? Im lost for any idea of what their priorities are. Some things seem like they're being ignored...so what is being worked on instead? Anybody know?

Awhile ago I thought it was a universal OS, but I haven't heard or seen much about that lately. Then it's about getting low end devices to growing markets. Then we hear about upcoming devices in the U.S and I guess I just want a steady stream of communication from MS.

The main idea is to capture market share and eat into the pie of Apple and Android. That's goal no.1. Then, it's providing the apps people want. It's actually a bit of a paradox. If your OS is a hit, people will make apps for you. But to make your platform a hit, you will need apps.
