    Hey, all!

I am literally on the edge of grabbing an unlocked Nokia Lumia 1020.

I am currently on BlackBerry 10 and looking to make the switch to WP - Cortana looks irresistible!

Please don't bash me for asking these 2 questions:

    1) Does Windows Phone support Emoji (i.e. when sending / receiving to and from iPhone & Android users)?
    2) IS IT POSSSIBLE to SEND and RECEIVE .gifs via text message? I have researched this everywhere and cannot seem to find an answer.

I know these are petty, superficial things. But 99% of my friends send and receive these and I would hate to miss out on the joke group text message threads.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Also, I'm pretty sure I posted this in the wrong thread - forgive me for that, as well!

    Hi there!

    1. YES. And you don't need to activate an extra keyboard. They come equipped under the 'smiley' tab, and have pretty much every emoticon available in the emoji keyboard (probably not 100% but most. Most of my friends and my family have iphones and I've had no problems with receiving their emoji emoticons).

    2. NO. Actually this is one of my gripes, there is no .gif support just yet. I have a feeling they'll implement it later though, but no guarantees. Hopefully it's not a dealbreaker but there are your answers :)

    Ah, okay.

So even if I SEND a .gif to someone with an Android or iPhone, the damn thing won't play?

    I'm not sure with gifs.
I doubt you'd be able to send them.
GIFs might be able to be received, i think my sister may have opened one with IE, but my memory could be wrong.

but sending it, I dont think you can. unless you send them a link to it. (e.g. using Nokia Cinemagraph, uploading the animation/GIF to nokia's site and sending the link to the recipient.)
