Hi,
Just want to know how to play media files (e.g. avi, mpeg, mpg, flv, mp3, etc) in Windows phone? Do we need to download specific apps or can we play these files without connect / transfer / convert using zune?
Please advise
thank you

Mp3 of less than 320kps work just fine. You need an app for anything else.

Bear in mind all those other codecs (other than mp3) will not be hardware accelerated, so any app that works will eat your battery.

I have all my music at 320kbps. If it's above that, does something screw up?
320k is the maximum supported bitrate for MP3. I doubt you'll find much that is designed to play it, even assuming you can find something to record at that quality. Also at that point, you might as well go with FLAC lossless. Really, though, I doubt you're likely to hear much perceptable difference if any. You could probably encode using the high quality v0 setting in LAME and not be able to tell a difference.

So does it mean I van just save those files (e.g. avi, flv, mpg, etc) into phone and play with apps?
Did you know the best apps to run all of those files?
Thanks
