Edit: Even without gloves, the iPhone was difficult to use in the cold weather as it was responsive to the heat from your fingers.Last edited by duvi; 09-19-2012 at 12:33 PM.

- The 8X and the 920 are unibody designs and lack microSD memory. The Ativ S, 8S, and 820 are not unibody and have microSD memory. I see a pattern.

- To you, but to everyone that knows how uncomfortable it is to use a phone in cold weather, which I bet will be most of Minnesota, will love the idea09-19-2012 12:39 PMLike 0
- hmmm....nokia's not liking HTC latest effort
Nokia slams HTC's Windows Phone 8 announcement, calls it a 'tactical re-branding' | The Verge
It takes more than matching color to match the innovation of the Lumia 920.
....now boys...lets play nice, there's enough consumer dollars to go around09-19-2012 12:40 PMLike 0 - If no expandable memory, you have GOT TO have 32 G in this day and age. Cell phones are phones last anymore- they are media devices first. Movies, videos, games, music, podcasts, apps... you lose a good portion of your customers straight out of the gate. I am fine with 16 G, but I am the exception, not the rule.
HTC should know better. 920- 32G. ATIV- expandable memory.
8X- priced lower has a chance. Priced the same, just loaded the pistol and aimed it the wrong way.
Boggles my imagination.09-19-2012 12:45 PMLike 0 - Between the 8X, 920 and ATIV, the 8X is the only one that seems to be Verizon bound so far.
The only problem I have is the 1800 mAh battery, especially when the ATIV has 2300 mAh and the lack of MicroSD support, which would be acceptable if it came in 32GB instead of 16GB.
But the phone itself... damn good looking..... If that's the one I have to get, I'll be happy with it.09-19-2012 12:45 PMLike 0 - Screen comparisons:
Members of the verge talk about the screen of the HTC One X to the L920 and they believe the 1X was still better even though the L920 was good

either way, can anyone go wrong with their choice? I do feel a lil'bad for the ativ-s as it doesnt seem to capture the mindshare of the 8X/L920....probably serves samsung right for treating WP as its mistress09-19-2012 12:46 PMLike 0 - Between the 8X, 920 and ATIV, the 8X is the only one that seems to be Verizon bound so far.

But you are right- the 820 and not the 920 is rumored for Big Red. That makes the 8X top WP8 dawg in a huge, open yard right now.09-19-2012 12:48 PMLike 0 - Joe B has been using HTC8 on verizon

Oh .. and I've been using my #HTC8 on the Verizon network. :) But here in the US you'll be able to get yours on VZW, T-Mo *or* AT&T!09-19-2012 12:51 PMLike 0 - I still think that 2.1 has to be a typo. The One X has Bluetooth 4.0. If it's not a typo, then wtf. It just seems weird.09-19-2012 12:56 PMLike 0
- Hey...for the smart people out there,
what does a '2.55-volt audio amplifier' mean to a person like me? does this mean my device sounds louder when compared to a dedicated MP3 player.
In other words what does it mean in the real world09-19-2012 12:56 PMLike 0 - 09-19-2012 12:57 PMLike 1
- Most likely nothing. It mainly means that it can drive some really high impedance headphones. If you're not an audiophile, it's not going to make much of a difference, in my opinion.09-19-2012 01:00 PMLike 0

Windows Phone 8S by HTC Overview - HTC Smartphones09-19-2012 01:07 PMLike 0 - I think the rumor is the ATIV doing the GS3 thing and hitting all carriers (except Sprint, of course, who seems to like trying to lose paying customers).

The only thing that worries me is the signal quality. Having used both the VZW Galaxy Nexus (or as I refer to it, the Crapxus) and now the GS3, I just don't have a lot of faith in Sammy's radio ability... but to be honest, if it is at least as good as the GS3, it'll probably be acceptable.
No matter what I pick, I hope all the WP OEMs kick *** though.09-19-2012 01:08 PMLike 0 - I am disappointed. The 8X is clearly lower end than the HTC Titan. After offering WP users an amazing 4.7" device (and 4.7" was even bigger back then) with dual led flash and an attractive metal backplate, we get this?! 4.3"?
I hope an S4 Pro device is in the pipes to replace the Titan because this is clearly a downgrade. I am not impressed by any of the current WP8 offerings.09-19-2012 01:12 PMLike 0 - I am disappointed. I am not impressed with the 8x, I am surprised so many are actually. Its thicker than the TITAN. Screen is obviously higher res but not even the maximum 768 version for WP8. 16gb is not enough for me as I am out of space on my 16gb TITAN.09-19-2012 01:35 PMLike 0
