Nokia Lumia 920 Specifications - Nokia
Please help. I really want to buy a Lumia 920 and use it on Fido because I have a great plan with them. I do not want to leave the plan. I would pay the full price and get this phone if it works.
Thank you in advance.10-14-2012 03:19 PMLike 0 - It should work, since Fido is owned by Rogers and uses Rogers' network.

- I do believe that a UK unlocked device would work in Fido's bands. AFAIK Rogers uses the UK bands for 2G and 3G, just like AT&T. Don't know about 4G though. Unfortunately, it does look like a UK version will be Everything Everywhere unlocked...10-14-2012 03:50 PMLike 0

Keep in mind though that Microsoft did mention an opt-in method to bypass the carrier in updates.
If both were the same price, and the AWS 1700 band is something you do not need, I'd go with the international version.
I am in your shoes as I will be getting the 920 off contract. I am waiting on pricing and dates before I decide if I buy it from Rogers or get an international one on eBay. Currently have the Lumia 900 with Rogers.10-14-2012 10:13 PMLike 0 -
- The international version will receive updates as soon as Nokia releases them whereas the Rogers/carrier-based phone updates need more time to get released as the carriers need to customize the updates first.
