- The fact that they call Nokia a 'long time partner' with Microsoft makes me doubtful of anything else they have to say. The review seems rushed and doesn't give much real world feedback. Under battery life they simply talk about the reported battery life. My gut tells me that they maybe received a 920 yesterday and wrote a half review based on a few hours with it.

- It's a website that sells laptops.
Or they are just stupid.Last edited by vagrantwade; 10-31-2012 at 12:23 AM.

"Overall, the Lumia 920 is one of the best phones we’ve reviewed in quite some time."
But then again, this is coming from a site that is in the business of selling phones, including the Lumia 920.10-30-2012 12:30 PMLike 0 -
- Did anyone see Vlad's "This is my next..." post about the 8X? I hope this quote doesn't indicate the tone of 920 review.

".... when I look at the deluge of smartphones flooding my desk, the only one I care to pick up and play with today is the Windows Phone 8X. Not the new iPhone, not the quad-core Galaxy Note... not even Nokia's Lumia 920, which is almost trying too hard with its laundry list of extras and enhancements."10-30-2012 12:36 PMLike 0 - I think there's more to this than just that. I wasn't particularly impressed with pics taken using Lumia 920 in Ben Rudolph's skydrive.

If you see them in full size, they are super grainy. Sure, they are taken indoor. But here's one taken outdoors:

Only reason I'm planning to switch to WP8/Lumia 920 from iPhone 4s is the camera of Lumia 920. So if that makes me a fanboy, then I'm one. But I'm just disappointed!10-30-2012 12:41 PMLike 0

I hear you on the camera end of it, all I was saying is everything else we have seen says the 920 blows away all other phone cams, this is the only guy saying that it dosnt. He just comes off as a fan boy stating how great the 920's camera is but has to make sure we know that iphone is still better, but he has nothing supporting that. He already stated that the 920 is far supperior in low light but matches the other phones out there in overall pics. To me that would put a win in the 920. Its one of the top cameras out there but dose much better low light photos. Sounds to me like it is a better overall choice.10-30-2012 12:47 PMLike 0 - I think there's more to this than just that. - The camera does not surpass the iPhone's?
The second I read that, I stopped reading the review.
That is one thing I KNOW THE LUMIA DOES. The low-light and not-so-low-light, AND the video, are WORLDS APART. The iPhone 5 looks like a DVD and the Lumia looks like a 1080p Blu-Ray.
So that is a gigantic lie.
Im desperately waiting for The Verge's review of the 920. Or Engadget's at least.10-30-2012 12:50 PMLike 0 -
Let's wait to have some trusted reviewers do their job on the 920. I seriously do not trust that crappy webpage saying that the camera is not as good as the iPhone's.
I HAVE SEEN the pictures. Not only low-light, but also in not-so-low-light and the video the Lumia wins by FAR.10-30-2012 12:54 PMLike 0 - I'm also surprised, seeing that Apple never really had good cameras to begin with, how did they suddenly become something that sets a standard in that sense?10-30-2012 12:55 PMLike 0
- Pictures here for the Rogers Lumia 920 I just bought!
http://forums.windowscentral.com/win...tm#post172940810-30-2012 01:00 PMLike 0 - The review seems fair to me (though based on a few hours of use, as others have pointed out). I think they're probably right about the iphone camera being better under some circumstances. From other comparison's I've seen, the lumia 920 is significantly better under very low light and/or shaky conditions, but in a straight shoot-out under good lighting, the iphone just pips it.10-30-2012 01:06 PMLike 0
- There is no video, no data figures, no proper screenshots or photos.
It looks like someone has extrapolated what they already know about the phone - and made judgements from there - just so they can say they are the first to review.
There is still an embargo on reviews for the device (understandable they want to stagger the reviews of WP8 devices) and until the likes of Engadget, The Verge and WPCENTRAL release a review - I would take what this little known site has said with a pinch of salt.10-30-2012 02:02 PMLike 0 - Did anyone see Vlad's "This is my next..." post about the 8X? This is my next: the HTC Windows Phone 8X | The Verge
Too many extras? Never thought that to be a bad thing.
Although I can understand where he's coming from (Example, look how HTC Sense on Android got dwarfed and laggy), the extras can become something which makes the phone industry leading. It's down to opinion really.

In relation to the camera. Surely its down to more than just a shoot out. Example, flash focus, macro, etc?10-30-2012 02:28 PMLike 0 -

- Agreed. In order to truly judge which is better, you need to see photos of the same scene with the same lighting conditions taken with both devices from the same spot.
