my 2 cents:
As a former Apple ******, I'd love nothing more than to see WP8 explode and become a popular and vibrant mobile OS. I'm less than 2 months into using windows phone 7, so I have no alliances. I like my Nokia 900 just fine, but it's not a premier phone by any stretch. With that in mind, I completely root for ALL WP8 devices to succeed.
There are 2 primary choices right now: 920 and the 8X. Both have pros and cons, here's how I lay them out:
HTC:
Pros - fantastic size/shape/design, beats audio, most of the tech bloggers seem to rave about it
Cons - expensive (although wouldn't surprise me if Verizon heavily discounts it to compete with ATT), no free wireless charging (that we know of), slightly smaller screen, camera nothing to write home about.
920:
Pros - nighttime camera, better daytime camera potential pending software updates, slightly larger/brighter screen, HALF the cost, included wiress charging, Nokia apps included/optimized for the device, touchscreen usable with gloves
Cons - size and weight, very real risk that camera does NOT live up to it's potential even with future updates
Camera is huge for me. Love photography but no way in **** I'm lugging around my Nikon D700 kit and lenses or even a point and shoot for that matter, not on a daily basis. As they say, the best camera in the world is the one you have with you.
I think the potential of the Nokia camera is better than the HTC... IF software updates can sharpen things up and bring it up to par with the iPhone 5 I would be ecstatic. This possibility, combined with the lower cost, are probably pushing me to the Nokia.
