Does your phone turn off whilst charging?

I like yo have my phone turned off at night whilst it on charge, however this phone has other ideas. Once you turn the phone off it immediately turns itself back on again.

Anyone else get this?

That is how Windows Phone operates. The charging is handled by the OS, so the phone needs to be on while charging.

Isn't this also the way the iPhone works? At least my wife's iPhones have seemed to, but maybe it's just the way she's had them set up.

Unfortunately, every smartphone I've owned (Treo, Pre, Windows Mobile, Android, iPhone, WP) all turn on when charging. Never seen a way around it, but I just use airplane mode. Solves the problem.

No, My iPhone enabled me to charge whilst turn off, though it was just the iphone 4.

my old LG smartphone (with the LG OS on it) could charge whilst being off. Always used to charge it that way. Also charging my Sony S tablet (Android) when it is off. Though tablets might be different, not sure.

I don't see why anyone would want/need to turn a smartphone off, especially if it's on a power source. But that's just me .

I guess there could be some energy conservation reasons but they'd probably be rather minimal.
