Screen stays on during call

Why does my screen stay on during a call? Any assistance would be great.

If you've done a soft reset, my next time would be to do a hard reset. Hopefully its not a faulty sensor.

Hi,
The screen gets turned off during a phone call when the proximity sensor is covered. This is done to avoid accidental touch screen actions when you are in a call.
