When the phone is hot, the camera app wont work and only shows the black screen with disabled camera buttons, the only way is to turn off and on the phone and let it cool down the camera will work again !

Tried to deactivate Facebook sync + deactivated Sleeping screen (setting never), still get the freezes overnight when in standby, no problem while using or while charging. It only freezes if it is not used, whether the alarm clock is set or not

Freezes once every 2 days on average, always when left alone, never in use. I just leave it and when I come back to it to see if there are any messages or e-mails, it's frozen and requires a "Vol. down and power" reset.

That's exactly what happens to me, with all 3 handsets I've had, so annoying!

Hello,

I've got a Lumia 920 from about 2 weeks. I suddenly experienced the well-known freezing issue.
Unfortunately I came reading all this stuff after buying the phone.
So I began trying more and more, and finally I think I got an idea of what is causing the malfunction. At least on my handset.
However I don't know how to submit my results to Nokia or Microsoft, so I hope someone can suggest an address to write to (I mean, an address they will read).

I noticed that the freezes happen ever and only if both 2g/3g network and WiFi are enabled.
Leaving the phone with only WiFi won't make it freeze.
Leaving the phone with only 3g won't make it freeze.
Leaving the phone with 2G/3G and WiFi will make it hang.
I've also tried locking it to 2G and keeping WiFi on: same result, the phone hangs.

Disabling the network data and leaving only WiFi on WON'T make it hang. It stays up for days that way.
As soon as I re-enable both WiFi and network data, it will hang in a few time.

Would someone please give it a try if he has a WiFi at work or home, or whenever the handset can be connected with it for a long time, just to check if it hangs or not.

I suppose it performs some tasks while the screen is locked, causing the crash: maybe trying to switch from WiFi to 3G, or from 3G to 2G and vice versa (for example, when the network service is low).

However it happens also enabling the "always keep Wifi connection" flag.
So also on Portico, of course.

On my 2nd lumia 820 in 2 weeks. First one worked fine but had to get replacement as screen broke. I have this phone 1day and so far has turned itself off twice. First time I had to remove the battery and second time I did a restore by pressing volume down + lock key.

Bought phone, December 2012. Had random freezes when in standby mode any time of day. Tried Hard reset, bricked phone. Sent back for repair, took 1 month to repair. Got phone back, didn't install or set-up ANYTHING, first 2 nights it freezes when charging on USB overnight and isn't on in the morning. Have now installed all apps and linked my accounts and still freezes overnight only, but every single night.

Inconsistencies in battery life? No more than my previous phone (HTC HD-2 with WP 7.5), but I believe the inconsistencies are due to low signal levels from the Netcom Norway network causing the phone to switch to higher power transmission in an effort to compensate.

In one month of use the phone has reset about 5 times with loss of time and data settings, and has additionally hung twice, once with blank screen and once on the Nokia splash screen, I think the hangs are related to restarts rather than hangs during operation of the phone.

The phone generally requires a soft-reset about 3 times/week, often it's first thing in the morning (straight off the charger), however have also had it lock up once during a phone call (with bluetooth to the car), and occasionally during the day.
